Abingdon School is delighted to celebrate the achievements of five senior pupils who have represented elite rugby pathways during the 2025-26 season.

1st XV Captain Ned, who progressed through Abingdon Prep School, represented Gloucester Rugby U18 at hooker this season, whilst Lower Sixth pupil Conor represented Gloucester Rugby U17s and recently earned selection for the Ireland Rugby IQ pathway programme.

Henry, another former Abingdon Prep School pupil, also represented Gloucester Rugby U17s and trained within the Scotland Qualified U17/18 pathway this year.

William, who joined Abingdon for Sixth Form in September 2025 and has recently been appointed Head of School for next academic year, represented Gloucester Rugby U17s this season.

Zack, who joined in our Lower School, was selected for England Rugby Counties U18s and represented the national side at Premiership Rugby Finals Day earlier this year.

These achievements are a reflection of the pupils’ hard work, commitment and enjoyment of the game, alongside the support of their families, coaches and teammates.

Rugby continues to play an important role within the wider co-curricular life of Abingdon School. During the 2025-26 academic year, more than 360 pupils represented the school, with 14 pupils involved in academy or representative pathways from U15 level upwards.

The school congratulates all five pupils on their achievements and looks forward to following their continued progress both on and off the field.
