We are delighted to hear that Abingdon School’s U14 Piano trio has won a place at the Finals Concert of the National Pro Corda Chamber Music Festival to be held on Sunday 13 March at Millfield School in Somerset.
The trio, consisting of Ryan Ng (violin), Yubo Gao (cello) and Thomas Zhang (piano) took part in the regional semifinals on Friday 4 March, playing Gade’s Palm Court Trio, a piece called Jealousy.
The ensemble competed against others from many prominent schools and on Sunday they will join a great array of musical talent including chamber groups from Brighton College, Sevenoaks, Westminster, Dulwich College, Sherborne and Ipswich.
Congratulations to the pupils and to their chamber coach, Miss Lynette Stulting, as well as to all the other ensembles that performed in the earlier rounds of the competition.
