Day 5 and we have now travelled 1,117km. Through Glasgow, on the River Clyde and the most populous city in Scotland. Down the M74 to Carlisle, nicknamed the ‘Great Border City’ and continued on to Birmingham home of the country’s two oldest professional football teams: Aston Villa FC and Birmingham City FC. From Birmingham we travelled down to Bristol which in the middle ages was the starting place for early voyages of exploration to the New World. Finally we made it to Exeter in the county of Devon this morning. The county that has produced two of the most recent exciting England cricketers: Jos Buttler and Dom Bess.

You superheroes! We are going to have to travel back up to John O’Groats next week by the look of it!
