The finalists in our MyVision design competition presented their ideas to Nathan and Devante from the charity. Pupils in Pre-Prep had designed new guide dog coats with features to help others identify a working dog and the owner to hear where the dog is. Older pupils had designed a range of creative gadgets to help a visually impaired person. They included a device to identify when a chair is occupied, a door bell with lasers to identify the height of a parcel being delivered and vibrating shoe insoles to help with direction. We definitely have the tech giants of the future in our midst and thankfully Maisy, the retired guide dog, was there to preside over proceedings in her own relaxed manner.
