An early start got pre-season football underway last week, as the boys looked to blow away the cobwebs ahead of a challenging term to come. All age groups from U14 to U18 were put through their paces over two days in the build up to the Old Abingdonians XI vs Abingdon 1st XI fixture which finished 3-3. Sunday saw the 1st XI welcome Malvern College to Waste Court for what is always a competitive and good spirited encounter. Abingdon started strongly, moving the ball freely and took a 3-0 lead with 30 minutes on the clock. Impressive use of possession and clinical movement helped the side to further goals and a pleasing win, however there is still plenty to work on as we prepare for the first block fixture of the season next Saturday against Haileybury.
