On Friday 24 November, the annual Oxfordshire Rifle Association Dinner was held. This was an opportunity for members of the school rifle club to pick up the awards for their achievements throughout the year while hearing from fellow shooters in the county.
For the summer meeting, Archie Griggs won D class and Henry Waterson, now an OA, won C class as well as the Junior Championship Shield for the best junior shooter at the meeting. James Hogge and Henry Waterson came 1st in the C&D pairs for the highest total score and the Symonds Bowl also went to Abingdon School. In the more recent Autumn meeting, Ben MacLennan won D class also collecting a medal.
It was a very successful evening for Abingdon and a good way to wrap up the year’s shooting. Thank you to everyone involved for representing the school and hopefully we will be invited back to collect even more next year!
