On Friday, it was a complete pleasure to welcome Oxford University vocal group, ‘Out of the Blue’ to Abingdon for afternoon workshops alongside an evening concert. In the afternoon, the group taught two sets of pupils contrasting songs ready for performance in the evening. It was a wonderful pleasure to welcome pupils from St Edmund’s School in Abingdon to join us and learn the various a cappella vocal techniques of vocal percussion and beat boxing. In the evening the group performed an array of complex arrangements which had the Amey Theatre on their feet! It was made even more special with the return of two recent OAs, Thomas and Jack, who are part of the ensemble. A wonderful evening had by all and we sincerely hope to welcome the ensemble back in the future!
