Congratulations to OA Theo Brophy Clews who has been selected for the England Rugby U20 World Cup squad. Theo left Abingdon in 2015 after seven years at the school; he toured Namibia & South Africa and was the 1st XV captain in his final year. He was part of the London Irish Academy whilst at the school and became a full time professional upon leaving. He's played in the Premiership and is their youngest ever try scorer.

Theo was involved in last year’s successful campaign when England lifted the World Championship trophy in Manchester. That final was England's seventh in nine years.

Making the England U20 World Cup squad is a massive achievement for him and we wish him the very best of luck in the tournament. Playing all of their Pool A matches in the Avchala Stadium, England will open their campaign against Samoa on Wednesday 31 May. England will face familiar faces in their second fixture when they come up against Wales on Sunday 4 June.  The two sides recently met in the Six Nations, with England coming out 37-21 winners. Australia, who were in England’s pool last year, are the opposition for their final pool game on Thursday 8 June.
