The football season got underway with the annual fixture of Abingdon School’s 1st XI vs the Old Abingdonians Returning Captains XI. The OA team was selected by last year’s football club captain. The Abingdon 1st XI found themselves behind twice, however with the game in the balance at 2-2, Jasper Rolls‘ strike gave them the lead with 5 minutes to go. With seconds on the clock the OAs‘ persistence paid off as Sam Christie fired high into the top of the net from 25 yards to give them a well earned draw! We look forward to welcoming the OAs back again for their Old Boys fixtures later this term.
