Saturday saw the Boat Club race at Dorney Lake for the last multi lane competition of the year. For the senior crews this was the last race in preparation for Henley Regatta at the end of term. Glorious weather provided fast conditions for our crews to show their speed and gain more racing experience against some of the top crews in the country.

The highlights of the day were the J14s who finished second in the octo and the J16s who finished third in the eights unofficially setting an Abingdon record of 6:07.6. These were both really good steps on from their results at National Schools. For the Fifth Year who have been training throughout their GCSE exams this was especially pleasing to see as they have used their time very well.

Overall Results:

J18 VIII – 6th
J18 Quad – 40th
J16 VIII – 3rd
J15 1st VIII – 6th
J15 2nd VIII – 3rd
J14 Octo – 2nd

The J14s and 15s race one more time at Reading Town Regatta on Saturday 29 June. The senior crews now look to Henley qualifiers on Friday 28 June where we have crews looking for qualification in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup, Temple Challenge Cup and Fawley Challenge Cup.
