Having won their regional heat of the French debating competition, Harry Donoghue and Ben Hutchison (Lower 6th) went to the Institut Français in London on Monday 20 March to take part in the final of the ‘Joutes Oratoires’.
Both boys demonstrated their ability to present arguments and spontaneously defend their views on a range of controversial topics connected to French society. Although they did not win the title this time, the boys threw themselves into the debates with style and flair and were a credit to themselves and the school.
