The annual Inter House Athletics took place at Tilsley Park on a glorious, sunny afternoon.
There were some excellent individual performances, most notably in the third year from Dan Burger, who ran the fastest 200m time of the day in 23.75 seconds, Rowan Miell-Ingram, who ran the 1500m in a time of 4 minutes 42 seconds and George Owen who recorded the furthest distance in the Javelin on the day with a throw of 34.03 metres.
In the 4th year Kipp Mainstone, ran a splendid 400m in a time of 55.83 seconds whilst both O’Doherty’s 3rd year and Morgan’s 4th year 4 by 100m relay teams produced impressive sub 50 second times.
There is a full list of all the individual winners here.
The overall House results were incredibly close this year.
In the L6th, the winners were Border’s (184) who narrowly beat School (180) and James’ (177), although this event was hampered by lots of boys being unavailable for various reasons, which unfortunately meant some houses were unable to field a full team at this level.
It was even closer in the 4th year, where Crescent (160) and Border’s (164) were beaten by the narrowest of margins by Morgan’s (165).
In the 3rd year, O’Doherty’s (176) were more comfortable winners with School (158) and Pygott’s (151) taking 2nd and 3rd respectively.
That meant the overall winners across all three year groups put together were School (470) with Border’s (469) only a single point behind in second and James’ (463) in third.
