Towards the end of the summer holiday, 48 students from across the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Lower Sixth year groups travelled to Iceland. Students enjoyed getting up close to Iceland’s spectacular natural landscapes, from getting soaked by waterfalls and hiking on the Sólheimajökull Glacier to relaxing in the geothermal waters of the Secret Lagoon. A particular highlight for the staff was walking across the newly formed lava fields near the town of Grindavík, created by the Sundhnúksgígar volcanic eruptions that we had witnessed two years previously. Fortunately, the weather was excellent throughout the trip, allowing everyone to make the most of the incredible Icelandic scenery and enjoy a memorable few days in this amazing country.
