Abingdon School’s House Ensemble Competition took place on Monday afternoon in the Amey Theatre. Each house assembled a small group of musicians to perform for their peers, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles. The performances spanned an impressive variety of genres, from film music through to jazz, indie music and metal. Mr Popplewell, one our music teachers, had the challenging role of adjudicating the competition.

In the end, only one house could claim victory. Franklin’s house was highly commended, Lower School came third, and Donnelly’s finished a close second. Crescent emerged as the winner with a lively arrangement of All of Me featuring some accomplished saxophone solos from Anson.

Congratulations to all who took part!
