On Friday, 15 Abingdon pupils, representing 3 countries (Algeria, Argentina and Belarus) in 7 committees, set off for the international Haileybury MUN conference. Throughout three days of rigorous debate, Abingdon showed exemplary deliberation, discussion, and collaborative skills that cemented us as a strong leader in the conference. In the end, Abingdon left with 4 individual awards including 3 highly commended and 1 distinguished, and won best overall delegation for Argentina. In addition, Nathan (5th Year) won the first ever Richard Haslam memorial award for an outstanding written resolution.
Overall, Abingdon showed debate and collaboration prowess, and all students thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.
