Week 9 of the football season started with lower school fixtures against Oratory Prep School. The U13 A team won 5-2, Hayato Frellesvig, Finn Scott, Ethan Barksfield and Luke Skates with the goals, whilst the U13 Bs won 3-1. The U12 As settled for a 1-1 draw whilst the U12 Bs had a very convincing win.
On Wednesday afternoon the U14 Bs also welcomed Our Lady’s Abingdon U14 As to Lower Field, 5-0 the final score, whilst the U15 B draw with Our Lady’s Abingdon U15 A 2-2.
Over on Waste Court the 2nd XI took a remarkable early 3-0 lead against Stowe 1st XI, a 6-3 win the final score.
Thursday saw the 5th XI in action against Our Lady’s Abingdon U18s; a highly competitive fixture finishing 1-4 to Our Lady’s Abingdon.
With a number of fixtures cancelled on Saturday, the U14 Cs put in a terrific performance with Blessing Oge-Evans scoring a hattrick in their 3-1 win against Haileybury, whilst the U14 Ds also won 7-1. Back at main school the U15 Cs turned round their defeat from the start of the season with a 7-1 win.
The final game of the day saw the 1st XI play an Old Abingdonian XI in what was a very enjoyable encounter. In the end youth won, on a lovely occasion for the upper sixth leavers to play their final game for the school.
