Despite the weather's attempt to put a hold on the weekend's fixtures against Hampton School, all matches went ahead with the exception of the 2nd XI. In the early fixtures, on their second outing for the school, the U12 Bs has a great encounter 4-7 the final score, whilst the U12 As finished in a 2-2 draw, Jack Veal with both the goals. The U13 Bs lost 0-6, whilst the U13 As beat Hampton B 5-2. Alec Knox Clarke, Alexander Wakefield, Angus Barclay-Watt and Jack Deeker (2) with the goals.

The U14 As played out a classic at Cox’s Field with a 4-3 victory, Harvey Vinton and a hat trick from Felix Kind the goals, whilst the U14 Bs beat Hampton Cs. The U14 Cs lost 1-5. On Waste Court the U15 As found the going tough against a strong Hampton side, whilst two goals from Freddie Coode secured a 2-1 win for the U15 Bs. The 15 Cs won 4-2 against Hampton Ds.

Moving to Tilsley Park, and a last minute Jasper Rolls equaliser earned the U16 As a hard fought 3-3 draw, Rolls and James Daly with the other goals, whilst hat tricks from Aiden Cloney and Will Wakelam helped the U16 Bs to victory against Hampton U16 Cs.

Moving to the seniors and having done their research the Abingdon sides knew that the going was always going to be tough. The 4th XI came off second best, whilst the 3rd XI managed a consolation goal in their defeat. The 1st XI travelled away from home for the first time this season, and within 30 minutes found themselves 0-5 down against a very strong Hampton side. A much improved second half display and better use of possession saw Hector Chambers net two consolation goals, however tiredness told as the side slipped to a 2-8 defeat.

Some terrific performances, and results, against strong two-term football opposition, and we now look forward to a large weekend of fixtures against Shiplake, Reading Grammar and Radley College next Saturday.

Thank you for your continued support on the touchline.
