On Saturday, six Abingdon athletes traveled to Pontefract to represent Oxfordshire in the ESAA Cross Country Championships. We were proud that a quarter of the team was from Abingdon. Daragh found the Junior race tough due to the huge field and tight, short course, but gained great experience as he will no doubt return next year when he will be at the top of his age group. Monty, Ralph and Harry all ran in the Intermediate race, performing well against the very best athletes in the country, with Harry once again showing how rapidly he has progressed this year. In the Senior race, Oli moved nicely through the field with a race strategy that pulsed and Quinn took a brilliant third place to help Oxfordshire come 9th overall; an amazing result for a very small county.
