On 1 March, the cross country club travelled to Leeds to compete in the English Schools national cup final. This competition is the pinnacle of team racing, and all of the best schools in the country were in attendance. The senior team performed bravely despite two key injuries. Monty finished 30th and was well supported by the rest of the team for a final 15th place. A very young intermediate team raced with maturity and their prospects are strong for next year when they’ll be at the top of their age group. Daragh finished 48th and the other three all placed in the 70s to combine for a 16th place finish overall. The club had a great weekend in Leeds and really bonded. The slightly humbling experience has made us all even more determined to qualify for next year‘s race to try to force ourselves into a top 10 finish.
