This year, the Pro Corda National Chamber Music Finals were held at the Central Foundation Boys’ School in London. The Claritones, one of five chamber groups of Abingdon who went into the semi-finals, made it through to the final round. Although they did not go away with the final prize, they held the school’s name high with their amazing standard of playing, their impeccable behaviour and professional attitudes from start to finish. The adjudicator mentioned how incredibly together they were as a big chamber group and also complimented their choice of repertoire. Getting into the finals of the Pro Corda National Chamber Competition is a wonderful achievement, and something that Abingdon musicians have been able to do for the last three years.
