The goal of the CCF charity event this year, is to honour the Old Abingdonians (OAs) who fell in WWI by virtually visiting the sites of all of their graves. This journey will take us from Abingdon through Europe and finally to Basra, Iraq. The 8175 km trip passes the final resting place of 71 OAs who died in the fighting.

The trip has been split into two parts. In the five weeks leading up to 16 June, members of the Upper and Lower Sixth CCF will be warming up by completing sufficient running, cycling, kayaking and paddle boarding to cover the distance between Abingdon and Cremona. The 24 hour push to cover the remaining distance to Basra will begin at 9am on 16 June.

Our ambitious undertaking is in support of SSAFA. The armed forces charity helps to rehabilitate ex-service men and women as well as supporting their families and also cares for elderly veterans. If you would like to support our efforts, donations can be made here.
