Abingdon’s Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth biologists have achieved a great set of awards in the UK Biology Olympiad. A total of 19 students participated, with an impressive six students ranking in the top 5% of the 18,000 entrants taking part from across the country and receiving Gold Awards. These students have now been invited to compete for a place on the UK National Team.
In addition to the Gold Awards, Abingdon students also won five Silver Awards, two Bronze Awards, and three Commendations. This is our best showing in years, and is particularly encouraging as many of the participants sat the competition a year early in the Lower Sixth, making their achievements even more remarkable.
