At the end of the summer term 2019, 15 lower sixth biology students took part in the Intermediate Biology Olympiad – a very challenging exam that tests biological knowledge beyond A level standard as well as the ability to solve applied problems. All of the Abingdon students scored very highly: 7 achieved a Gold award, ranking in the top 5.3% of students nationally (Oliver Chester, Jason Lai, Ed Sharp, Matthew Lau, Francis Zhang, Toby Smallcombe and Joe Bradley). A further 3 students gained Silver awards, 4 attained a Bronze award and one student was Highly Commended (still ranking in the top 13.6% of students nationally!). Well done to all those students who took this exam.
