Saturday saw over 100 pupils race at Bedford Regatta. This was the first big regatta for the whole club since Covid and it was great to see all the crews together enjoying summer racing. It was also wonderful to see the event so well attended by parents, with such enthusiastic cheering and support from the FASBC tent.
It was a very busy and successful day’s racing, with racing from 8:30 am to 7:30pm. The crews raced brilliantly with category wins for the 1st VIII in the top event in Open VIIIs, the 2nd VIII in Open 4 VIIIs and the J15 Cs in the J15 C event in the last race of the day. The J15 As and Bs raced very well just missing out on wins in the finals of their events. The J14s and J16s also did well to race through the semi finals of their events.
The crews look forward now to National Schools Regatta on 27-28 May.
