In November, the badminton club participated in the Victor Sports national tournament. The U14s put in some wonderful performances, getting to the 3rd round where, despite putting up a valiant defence, they narrowly lost to Reading School. The U16s, also in the 3rd round, fared better against Sir Thomas Rich’s School, with a hotly contested match ending 3-3. In a points countback, Abingdon scored 116 against an opposition score of 108 and therefore progressed through to the South West Regional round 4. Congratulations to the team.

On 18 November, the Badminton club launched its inaugural 8 team tournament, welcoming teams from Bromsgrove, Wellington, Oratory and the Sankey Academy. The standard was exceptionally high and, in the end, Abingdon As narrowly missed out on the trophy to the Sankey Academy. All the players put in a stellar performance and well done to all of those involved.
