The Annual Chamber Music Concert this year presented us with two hours of incredibly varied music-making at a very high standard – as the photographs and the programme will illuminate.

We heard performers from all year groups of the school from First Year to Upper Sixth, from renaissance dances to contemporary composer, John Iveson, and everything in between – Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak, Elgar. The ensembles varied from woodwind to brass and from piano duet to strings and piano – not forgetting jazz.

We do have some phenomenally talented and dedicated musicians at the present time and they are so well supported in their endeavours by a gifted instrumental staff to whom we should pay tribute. There is no doubt that Abingdon chamber music making is in good heart.
