Last Tuesday storm Brendan tried it’s best to disrupt the junior cross country race, held at Cox’s Field, with driving wind and rain. The adverse weather didn’t deter the young runners, with a record number of athletes taking part including a strong cohort of girls’ schools – for the first time in the race’s brief history.

In the girls’ race, Headington finished strongly with two pupils on the podium. However; it was St Helen’s and St Katharine’s that packed well and came away with the team victory.

In the boys’ race, St Albans put on a dominant display of cross country running with all three of their runners finishing on the podium, securing a convincing team title. The Abingdon runners placed well to finish in 2nd place.
