On Monday, the Abingdon School Chamber Choir had the privilege of singing Choral Evensong at Queen’s College, Oxford. Despite being only a few weeks into the Michaelmas term, the choir delivered a fantastic and cohesive service, featuring beautiful repertoire by Dyson, Stanford, and Ayleward. A special mention goes to the two students who performed solos to an incredibly impressive standard.

The 300-year-old chapel provided a stunning backdrop for the music, astonishing the pupils with its architectural brilliance and mesmerising artwork. This was a remarkable opportunity for Abingdon’s talented singers to experience firsthand what it is like to perform as an Oxbridge choral scholar. Hopefully, this experience will inspire them to continue developing their voices as they look forward to more exciting performance opportunities this year.
