The senior tennis team competed in round three of the National Cup vs Magdalen College School. It was inevitably going to be a tight affair with the players having come up against each other many times in the past. The singles started well with Abingdon looking the stronger of the two sides but with a good comeback from the MCS number 1 the tie was evenly poised at 2-2. With just the doubles to play a draw looked likely however with the match stretching into its 4th hour and fatigue setting in from all players, Abingdon managed to rally and secure both doubles matches in straight sets and a 4-2 overall victory.
