Last week, Third Year students accompanied Ms Zhang to Carswell Primary School to run a Mandarin Club. The club saw Abingdon students lead a session on learning about pets in Mandarin. These clubs provide invaluable opportunities for our primary partners to develop new skills and languages while Abingdon students learn the challenges of leading a lesson while honing their skills of communication, leadership and teamwork. There was a real buzz to the session and the Abingdon students showed real creativity in coming up with new ideas and incentives to test learning and maintain engagement. It was great to be welcomed by Headteacher Mr Crandon and meet the excellent students from Carswell who worked very hard and enjoyed the session. Thanks to Ms Zhang for coming up with the club and running it so well.
