The whole of the Second Year visited the Electronics and Computer Science department at Southampton University earlier this week to build on the skills they have been learning in their engineering lessons this year.
The morning involved a Dragon’s Den style challenge with the panel consisting of staff from the University and Dr Willis and Mr Lomax. The groups presented an idea they had for how a BBC microbit could be used to solve everyday problems.
The group then had a tour, looking at the features of the campus university. The afternoon session was based in the undergraduate laboratories where, in small groups, the boys were involved in a competition to program a robot to follow a maze.
