Year 5 visited the Oxford Museums on Friday for a jam-packed day of awe and wonder. We began with a fascinating workshop in the Natural History Museum to kickstart our new science topic on evolution and inheritance. Of course, there was time to explore the museum itself with a mission from Steve Backshall. After lunch, we visited the Pitt Rivers Museum to find out more about the Maya following our history topic this term. The museum staff mentioned how impressed they were with the pupils’ knowledge, interest and thinking around the Maya and the pupils were fascinated to handle real artefacts.
