Year 5 showcased their performing talents with a concert full of drama sketches, instrumental and vocal soloists and the whole year singing together. This was an informal event with parents and friends seated around tables eating supper.
The concert began with a series of dramatic scenes acting out historical events in The Bourbons and other Crackers by Sue Gordon. This was highly entertaining and had the audience in fits of laughter. We then heard a variety of soloists, who performed to a very high standard with pieces ranging from a Bach Minuet to Thunderstruck. They all came together to perform the popular cantata Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo by Flanders & Horovitz, in which they wowed the audience with their powerful singing and very clear words.
An enjoyable and entertaining evening was had by all.
