This year’s World Book Day took the theme of characters from History and leading us “around the world” was Phileus Fogg, otherwise known as our very own Stefan Gerrard, who organized a human timeline made up from the boys’ various characters. Among our visitors at school today were Julius Caesar, a highwayman, a Samurai warrior, Elizabeth I and Napoleon Bonaparte himself. This literary celebration was rounded off with a visit from the popular children’s author Annabel Claridge. She inspired the boys in Years 5 and 6 with a talk about creative writing and her famous “Bo books”, featuring a pet poodle who travels back in time to befriend some of history’s most famous people.
