Following on from recent success at the Cokethorpe tournament, the U12s played Oratory Prep School this week. From the first kick off the boys commanded all aspects of the game. They defended assertively and attacked with pace and commitment. The first half saw them build a healthy lead. In the second half, OPS scored early, catalysing a resurgence in confidence and a spate of tries in quick succession. Absorbing the pressure, Abingdon Prep rediscovered their earlier composure and form, ran in some tries and won the game. Many thanks to OPS for the fixture, and for their excellent sportsmanship even when under considerable pressure in the early part of the game.
