Singing is such an important part of the lives of many people across the world. Singing, and music in general, expresses something greater than ourselves, a higher level of awareness and emotion that cannot be expressed by speech alone. This is why singing is such a huge part of our music lessons at Abingdon Prep. Throughout our period of remote learning, our pupils have been learning to sing a variety of songs. Our Year 3 and 4 boys have been focusing on songs about rainbows; a dedication to the NHS and front-line workers through the Covid-19 pandemic. This video was sent in by Reuben in Year 3. Whilst listening, think about the amazing work these people are doing, and you might just get a glimpse of the potential emotional power of a child singing.
