Thirteen boys from four age groups competed in the Abingdon Vale Biathlon Time Trial on Sunday 9 October at Abingdon Sports Centre (Swimming) and Tilsley Park (Running). Out of the 13 Abingdon Preparatory School competitors, five finished in the top three. A tremendous achievement indeed.
Quinn (1st), Freddie (2nd) and Jasper (3rd) completed a one-two-three for Abingdon Prep in the Under 11 category. However it was Kayden who finished 1st in the 50m freestyle (36.83) while both Quinn (2:30.57) and Freddie (2:43.76) both excelled on the track.
Johnny (1st) and William (2nd) both outstanding athletes, again went ‘toe-to-toe’ in both disciplines, with only a few seconds splitting the two of them. Both are prodigious talents. Alex finished 2nd in the Under 12 50m freestyle swim while Christopher improved his PB in both swim and run.
In the Under 13 category Rowan ran an astounding 5:12.95sec in the 1600 metres and finished 4th overall in the competition. Thomas (4th) produced a PB in the 1500m on the run and swam a creditable 1:20.59 on the swim.
Many thanks to all the parents for their help on the day. It was once again a fantastic experience for all of our athletes.
