Abingdon Prep entered the second annual Abingdon School Cross-Country Competition with an Under 13 A and B squad consisting of four runners per team from both Years 7 and 8.

The boys lined up for a 2.4km race in testing conditions as we experienced our first dusting of snow this winter. The race started at a fast pace with three of the Abingdon team members holding good positions towards the front of the race from the ‘gun’. All of the Abingdon Prep runners, which included Quinn, Monty and Jacob, were in the leading group from start to finish. Quinn (1st) led the field by a handsome margin followed by Monty (3rd) and Jacob (5th). Max (21st) completed the quartet of runners to secure 2nd place in the team competition.

Other notable performances were from Mikey (22nd) and Finn (35th). The rest of our runners all performed brilliantly and can be very proud of their achievements. Still lots of hard work ahead though before the IAPS National Cross Country Championships in Malvern.
