British charities issued a plea to try to mitigate the huge loss of fundraising that they are now missing due to the lock down – the 2.6 challenge was born!

British rowing joined in with this challenge and invited rowers young and old, new and experienced to join in. As a rowing family with boys at Abingdon Prep and Abingdon we took up the challenge and set ourselves the target of rowing 26km on the rowing ergometer. Lycra rowing suits were donned and the whole family took part!

We completed our challenge in a relay, doing two rowing stints each and we completed the 26km in 2hrs 3mins. It was great to set ourselves up for the challenge and also support charity in the process. We don’t have a total raised yet but hope it will add to other efforts to make a difference. I’m very proud of all my boys for committing to the challenge and working hard to do their bit.
