Our recent visitor, Dan, was fantastic at bringing the pupil’s unit on the circulatory system to life by showing them the real life equipment used in vascular surgery. The pupils learned about the conditions that would result in surgery being needed and were in awe at the equipment that would used and level of precision required. At the end, Dan even used a portable ultra sound to demonstrate one the pupil’s arteries in their wrist and visually show them their pulse rate. We were so lucky for Dan to give up his time to come in and bring this topic to life and I feel we may have a few future medics among our ranks in Year 5!
