Our annual trip to Sulgrave Manor was another great success.

The Manor House near Banbury was built in 1539 by Lawrence Washington, an ancestor of George Washington, the first President of the USA.

Although the house was much bigger in its time, it is still packed with a wealth of Tudor artefacts and built in the Tudor style.

We spent time exploring the kitchens, dining room and numerous bedrooms: Lawrence Washington did have eleven children!
