Year 6 has been learning about solutions and separating mixtures. To finish the topic, they made saturated solutions of copper sulphate, and suspended little seed crystals in the solution on string. A week later, it was time to see what had happened – this year we grew a bumper crop of beautiful large octahedral crystals indicating that the boys’ solutions were well-made.
