As part of our English focus in Reception we have been exploring ways of being a detective and finding out more about different characters. We started by bringing in Shrine boxes that were filled with items that were really important to us. We then used the boxes to find out more about each other. Our boys were amazing at using the clues in the boxes to work out why the items were special and who they might belong to. The tricky thing was not giving away with our words or body language if a box belonged to us, right until the very end. Some people were so good at this that they tried to trick us by suggesting things about their own boxes! We had everything from christening ribbons, Lego models, family photos and dragons to the most precious cuddly toys and a dreidel. We know so much about each other now.
