Due to lockdowns it has been a long time since the Abingdon Science Partnership has been able to welcome visitors from schools in and around Abingdon to do workshops. A new team of sixth form scientists is in place to lead these workshops, which they hope to start again soon.
Our Year 5 pupils were invited over to the Yang Science Centre at Abingdon for a trial run of their density workshop. The boys all enjoyed getting to wear the junior lab coats and working with the workshop leaders to build density ladders in measuring cylinders. They had four coloured solutions, which if added in the right order would sit on top of each other, with the most dense at the bottom and least dense at the top. Simple but great fun!
