A fully booked group of 15 boys attended the one day etching workshop creating a wonderful array of insect inspired prints. Some extended the project by creating an edition of smaller etchings based upon their own theme, African warriors, the ace of hearts and a smart pair of brogues to name just a few.

After discussing the history of copperplate printing, the boys prepared their own plates, filing edges and smoothing corners. Using print specific tools to incise their design, inking the plate and polishing before using the print press to emboss their work into dampened paper.

The final prints were fantastic, the standard was very high. We look forward to the next workshop in January.
