21 March 2010

In late March, we went, with four others Year 8 students to represented Abingdon Preparatory school in the Salters’ chemistry competition at Oxford University. There were two challenges which included the use of chemicals and chromatography. We enjoyed working in the laboratory and puzzling together the answers. Our school won second prize in the first competition. There was a really interesting chemistry demonstration in the afternoon. We very much enjoyed the exploding gases, and the mixing of chemicals. It was an interesting and fun day and we were pleased with our result.
