This year, as every year, boys and staff at Abingdon Prep have commemorated Remembrance Day. Our theme this year was to consider all of those brave men and women from all over the Commonwealth who have aided Britain in wartime and emergencies. Some boys were able to illustrate examples of this by sending in stories of their own relatives, which helped to build up our Remembrance display. Several boys in Year 3 were particularly generous in giving up their time every morning in recent weeks to sell poppies and raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. On Thursday, at 11am, the whole school stopped for 2 minutes’ silence, signalled by the Last Post.
