In English, pupils in Year 6 have been studying Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Private Peaceful’ this term. They had an opportunity to choose some scenes from the play script (adapted by Simon Reade) and to perform them in front of their peers. It was impressive to witness the pupils reading and performing their lines with conviction, having got to know the characters so closely through their engagement with the novel.
