Year 6 went to the West End to see a matinee of the musical The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre with music by Stephen Schwartz, (based and expanded from the DreamWorks film). The musical tells the story of Moses from his birth and being hidden in the bulrushes right through to leading the Hebrews out of Egypt by parting the Red Sea, complementing RE lessons perfectly. Everything about the musical was fantastic, but the choreography and dancing stood out as being fab-u-lous! During the interval, the boys were fascinated by peering into the orchestra pit to discover where the music came from. Several audience members commented on the boys’ good behaviour which was lovely to hear. The boys gave the cast a standing ovation at the end, and were rewarded by a wave from Rameses. What a great day out!
