Pre-prep enjoyed a seasonal treat this week when instead of going out to a theatre, a production came to us in our school and we were the stars.
First the professionals held a workshop with Year 1 and 2 where we practised moving like the characters and acting like goodies and baddies.
Boys were delighted with their costumes ranging from hens, poppies, witches, munchkins, characters from the Emerald City, even Toto and the Wizard himself!
All boys took part either as dancers or with speaking roles and they all felt very special to be involved in the show. Entertainment included traditional songs 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' and other well known tunes such as 'Lion King' but the characters remained the same: we all cheered along Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman and the Lion finding the things they were missing and booed at the wicked witch “Oh no we didn't!”
With a 'Happy' finale dance the audience (of Reception, Year 3 and Year 4) all agreed it was the best pantomime of 2014!
